This morning Lexi ran off to the library, and after about a half an hour I wandered over there to see how things were going.
When I got there, she had one stack of books, and by the time I got her out of there, she had two. I carried 30 books home.
As soon as we got home, she read me a book called “What Do Teachers Do (after YOU Leave School)” while I sorted laundry.
And what do teachers do?
Lexi’s favorite part: “They wear plastic goggles, fill beakers with goop. They grin wicked grins while preparing slime soup.”
In the middle of the book, she stopped reading and said, “I guess when I’m a teacher, I’ll know if this is true. But I think they just get work done and leave.”
